Latest news...HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Another year and oh so many biking adventures still to be had. The Potters are busy preparing for the 2010 Luchon season with even more new trails to add to the trail book for 2010. While the boys in the UK have a new AQR skills centre to play on that will be testing, fun and help you move your riding forward. Check out latest news below....
LATEST NEWS!!!! 2010 Tour de France week
17-24 July
The Tour de France route has been announced!!!! There was rumour circulating around Luchon for some time now that we might just see the TDF on our door step, but not once, twice!! On Monday 19th July we will see the winner of stage 15 as they descend down the Port de Bales, join the last few kilometres of the Col de Peyresourde and cross the line in the centre of Luchon. It will be an amazing scene to watch and only if you join AQR for the Tour de France week will you understand how electrifying the atmosphere will be. Then the following day you will see the start of the Tour de France before AQR takes you on a mountain biking tour throughout the Luchon valley. The week will involve 5 days mountain bike guiding, but if you wish to take on the TDF cols in the area on your day off then why not bring your road bike along and hire a Cotic mountain bike from AQR. Places are limited, already 11 places have been confirmed leaving only 5 places left. Contact AQR for further information.
This week will fill up, so make sure you reserve your place if you don't want to miss out.

NEW AQR WEBSITE

More importantly the website will help you prepare for your AQR adventure as our number one priority is to take the hassle out of your ride. In the mean time it is best to contact kate@aquickrelease.com if you need any information on AQR.

2010 AQR Technique and Skills Sessions
see below...
A 'SKILLS COACHING' word from Jon -
'I know that some of you have been asking about dates for
skills sessions in the UK for the coming year. and I
apologise for the delay. Thay are now confirmed, and listed below. Unfortunately, logging work at our new location at Hanchurch Hills means that we won't be able to use it until later in the year, but sessions will go ahead at Sherwood Pines as usual. AQR have been coaching mountain biking skills for over five years, and believe we offer the most comprehensive coaching
for the best price in the country. We keep the price so low to encourage riders to come to more than one session.
Mountain biking is a progressive sport, and you need to keep working on your skills if you want to improve. After learning
new skills, and ironing out bad habits, it is great to be
able to come back a few months later to see what you have remembered, and what you can now move on to. Paul is an expert at tailoring his advanced skills sessions to the needs of the
group. We have also simplified the pricing, which confused a few people! We want to encourage as many people as possible to
work towards the more advanced skills session by taking a two-day course.
With this in mind, we are charging £35 for a one day
session, but only £60 if you want to book two separate sessions. Most of the coaching days are on Saturday, but we have
included two sessions on Sundays due to demand.
Jan 23 - (Saturday) skills session at Sherwood Pines.
Feb 27 - (Saturday) skills session at Sherwood Pines.
Apr 11 - (Sunday) skills session at Sherwood Pines. Jun 12 - (Saturday) skills session at Hanchurch Hills. Jul 10 -(Saturday) skills session at Hanchurch Hills. Sep 12 - (Sunday) skills session at Hanchurch Hills. Oct 23 - (Saturday) skills session at Hanchurch Hills. Dec 4 - (Saturday) skills
session at Sherwood Pines.
These sessions last from 10am-4pm, and have a maximum of 8
people per instructor. If you have any questions, or would like to book a place, please email jon@aquickrelease.com .
Please note - we also run individual and small group sessions on request.'
Advanced Skills Course for 2010
same dates as above
If you have already been on an AQR skills day and have made significant progress, then it's time to advance your skills and technique further. Once the basics have been learnt and understood, then there is more to learn and more trails to conquer.
The day will run simultaneously with the normal AQR skills session, so that you can return to the basics if you feel the advanced course is too difficult.
Please contact jon@aquickrelease.com for further details.

Hi Kate and Ian
Just a short email to say thanks again for a great week. We really enjoyed ourselves, the riding was awesome and we both thought that Ian was an excellent guide. If you ever need a customer testimonial for the website from an old endurance rider just give us a shout!
We've put up recommended links for you guys, and Le-Lutin, on the team website, 7ds website and my blog:

Great to see you and Ian at the weekend. Thanks very much to you (and the rest of the AQR team) for all your great organisational work, guiding and general provision of amusement! Really enjoyed the riding this year (good to be a bit fitter compared to last year!) and has got me properly excited about getting out and riding my bike this season.

SINGLE TRACK - Editor's Award
BEST MTB Ride 2009
AQR had the pleasure of showing the boys from Single Track magazine their favourite Luchon trails in May, 2008. Benji has nominated our Spanish XC ride as his favourite. Not only are there over 100 switchbacks all the way down, but the views overlooking Luchon are stunning...as Benji and the boys often said at the end of every descent...'Cheesey High Fives'.
